Join us for a hands-on field day at Lake Basin Aquaculture Farm, where experienced fish farmers and extension officers will demonstrate practical, low-cost approaches to raising tilapia and catfish. What participants will learn and experience: • Pond and cage site selection, water quality testing, and stocking density for smallholder budgets • Fingerling sourcing, feeding regimes, and growth monitoring from a real working farm • Disease recognition and biosecurity basics • Harvesting, post-harvest handling, and value addition (smoking, filleting, packaging) • Market linkages, pricing, and a Q&A on financing aquaculture with SACCOs and county programs The day includes a guided farm walk, live demonstrations at three ponds, a hatchery tour, and a networking lunch with input suppliers. Bring gumboots and a notebook. Certificates of attendance provided. Suitable for current and aspiring fish farmers, youth agripreneurs, and extension staff.
